Freshly made food using seasonal locally sourced ingredients, generous portions and decadent desserts ensure that once-off visitors often become regulars. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch daily with dinners on Wednesdays and Fridays, and from Tuesday to Saturday during season. The stately old homestead is partnered by a “boutique” winery, contemporary wine tasting room and luxurious outdoor lounge which have established Peter Falke Wines as the most elegant and serene sundowner retreat in the winelands. The Falke family has been doing business in South Africa since 1969. Peter Falke was born in Germany. His dream to own a farm came true when he acquired Groenvlei in 1995. His wife, Danièle is French and an interior designer. Her taste and talent is expressed in the smallest details at Groenvlei.

This gives the vines the best possible chance to root itself within the ideal terroir. In order to nurture this terroir and the biodiversity around our vineyards, we look to mother nature and her natural indicators, adjusting our sustainable farming and winemaking practices in order to best express our soils and terroir through our grapes and wines. Nature has adapted around the farm throughout the years. This is most prevalently seen by the return of the dragonfly population on the farm- a positive sign as a dragonfly is extremely sensitive to environmental changes. This highly adaptive creature symbolizes our future. We adapt when needed in pursuit of balance.

Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region from South Africa can offer. It consists of about 400ha (200ha planted) of which half is stretched over the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, internationally recognised for some of the best red wine soil in South Africa. The other half is situated high up in the Bottelary Hills, renowned for its cool climate and late afternoon sea breezes swooping in from Cape Town to nurture both excellent white and red wines. Stellenrust boasts today with being one of the largest family owned wine estates in South Africa carrying through generations of winemaking skills and the legacy of our motto ‘where excellence meets winemaking’ put forward in every bottle.

For 3 generations, the Tezza family have been dedicated winegrowers. All grapes used are from the family's estate vineyards so they are able to produce unique & healthy wines. The naturalness of the wines is likewise guaranteed, with total control over vineyard planting, care of vines, winemaker process, sales, & marketing. Tezza is located in a fantastic area of Italy, called from the past "The Valley of the Gods" thanks to the presence of an underground roman temple still visible today. This particular valley boasts limestone derived soils, extremely favorable for vine growing. A replanting programme began in 1998 and the vineyards now adhere to the strictest COR and NOP organic farming protocols. This farming policy, together with their short production chain and high standards of quality, enables them to produce extraordinarily refined, well-balanced, organic wines.

Marchesi de' Frescobaldi is a wine producer located in Tuscany. It has several estates spread throughout the region, including in the Chianti Rufina, Montalcino, Pomino, Colli Fiorentini and Maremma DOC and DOCG zones. Frescobaldi grows everything from the region's flagship variety Sangiovese to more international grapes like Chardonnay, making a wide range of styles. The history of Frescobaldi dates back to the early 1300s, when the family began making wine at Tenuta di Castigliona, southwest of Florence. It became famous in the 1400s for supplying wines to Renaissance artists like Donatello, and Frescobaldi wines were served to the Papal Court and the English Court of King Henry VIII. Today Frescobaldi manages five estates throughout Tuscany: Castello di Nipozzano, Castello di Pomino, Tenuta di Castelgiocondo, Tenuta di Castiglioni and Tenuta dell'Ammiraglia. Most recently, Frescobaldi has begun collaborating with the penal authorities on the island of Gorgonas, making a Vermentino and Ansonica blend with the help of the local prisoners.

The Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero estate was established in the early 1950s, when the Olivero family, Daniela’s parents, bought the Valmenera farmhouse in Vezza d’Alba. They added the land and vineyards already owned in the Certuti region, better known as Sru, in the municipal districts of Canale and Monteu Roero, now a UNESCO World Heritage core zone. The concept of authenticity is what Daniela and Luigi apply in their vineyard, in the cellar and in their lives. They have decided to believe in and use only native gape varieties: Nebbiolo, Arneis, Favorita and Barbera. To vinify native grape varieties only, all as single grape wines. When you taste a wine, you should be able to taste the terroir. This is their idea of vinification. They love and respect their vineyards and in 2016 they joined “The green experience”, (thegreenexperience.it), a certification for those who want to implement sustainable and integrated viticulture.

The family behind the award-winning VJB Cellars has been recreating an authentic Italian experience in Sonoma County for four decades. The Belmonte family, originally from Italy, was in the restaurant business for years before opening VJB in 2003 as a loving tribute to their beloved son and brother Victor J. Belmonte who passed away unexpectedly. The tasting room today, created as a place for the community to gather and visitors to enjoy the bounty of Sonoma County, is reminiscent of an Italian piazza complete with refillable jugs of their award-winning Italian varietals, wood-fired pizzas, hand-pulled mozzarella and olive oil. For sparkling wine lovers, you’ll be pleased to hear that VJB has their own Italian Prosecco! This Prosecco comes straight from Italy, made from traditional grapes grown in the Veneto region on vineyards owned by friends of the Belmonte family.
