A leading red wine producer, with a century old heritage, nestled high up the Helderberg Mountains in South Africa’s Golden Triangle.

A Champion of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon. Proud of its heritage, inherently bound to its sense of place, Alto is an ambassador of uncompromising quality Stellenbosch wine to the world.
As echoed by the most relevant international critics, Alto wines are suitable for a decade long maturation and are a must-have for the discerning collector.
Our Estate is 93ha in size and planted with only red varietals. Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Cabernet franc are the most planted and benefit from the late-afternoon sea breezes that cool the grapes, lengthening the ripening period and preserving the complex flavours of the noble varietals grown at Alto.
